Ubiparipovic knows what to expect

Sinisa Ubiparipovic

About the Red Bulls…

“We know what they look like with or without Henry. We will just prepare as we do for all our games, but it will be easier now that we know how they play.”

About the team’s performance…

“We could a little better when it comes down to holding the ball and just be a little more composed all around. Having said that, we have to keep our defensive shape as we did in the last game. Our back four played well and we have to take it from there.”

Lamar Neagle

“We definitely want to get after them. We were up 1-0 in that game and they scored a lot and had their way. We want to get back at them and have a little bit of revenge, especially at home.”

About the team’s progress…

“We progressed a lot, with the character on the team, and we’re able to fight for 90 minutes. In the beginning, we would play well for 45-60 minutes and then have a lapse. Lately, we’ve been doing a lot better and we’ll be a better team than they saw in the beginning of the season.”

 About RBNY forward Kenny Cooper…

“You have to be wary of him. Each team has their powerful guys so you have to be aware of that. Our backline has done a great job lately. I think they’ll do well against Cooper.”

About the Impact…

“Although they’re an expansion team, they have experienced players, very good players and a coach with a lot of MLS experiences.”

“We faced them early on this season. As a group, they’ve had more time to come together. They’re coming off some good results.”

About playing in Montreal…

I’ve seen games from their stadium and there seems to be an incredible energy and passion within the stands. I’m sure it will be a great occasion this weekend and we’re all looking forward to play in a great atmosphere.

It’s exciting to go play in packed stadiums. The new teams have such incredible fans and it’s great to see and they’re great games to be a part of.

Ryan Meara

About the last game against Montreal…
Meara saves the game

“We know it’s a tough place to go play. I think they outplayed us in the first half of our last game against them. We were lucky to make it 2-2.”

About the Impact’s recent form…

“They’ve had some good results lately and they have a lot of fans up there. It’s not going to be easy but if we do what we’ve been doing in the last four games, then we’ll be okay.”

About playing in Montreal…

“It’ll be a tough environment. It’s turf field, something we’re not used to. It won’t be an easy game”
