The Montreal Impact makes trade with the Portland Timbers

Mike Fucito

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact acquired a SuperDraft second round pick in 2013 or an international roster slot through December 31, 2013, from the Portland Timbers for forward Mike Fucito. The Impact’s acquisition is conditional upon Fucito's performance in 2012. As per Major League Soccer and Impact policy, details of the deal were not disclosed.

“We would like to thank Mike for his commitment to being part of this organization,” said Impact head coach Jesse Marsch. “We feel this move will allow us to have flexibility on our roster while investing in our future.”

The 26-year-old forward made one appearance for the Impact, playing 26 minutes in the club’s first ever game in Vancouver on March 10, as a second half substitute. He also played three Reserve League games.

Fucito was originally acquired by the Impact from the Seattle Sounders on February 17, along with midfielder Lamar Neagle.
