Why you shouldn't miss the Stade Saputo home opener
The Montreal Impact is finally heading outdoors to play, hosting the Columbus Crew at Stade Saputo home opener this Saturday at 2pm and after a long, cold and snowy winter, here is a countdown of five reasons why you shouldn’t miss the game.
5 – The first real sign of spring in the city is when the Impact takes the pitch. With the weather warming up, what better way to spend some time outdoors than watching your home side host its Stade Saputo opener versus Columbus, even if it snows! Game on this Saturday. But don't worry, Tim Horton's will have you covered! Four 'rocketmen' will be walking around the stadium before the kickoff and at half time to help you warm up with FREE COFFEE!
4 – Louder and more songs! The supporters’ groups continue to grow and new groups have been established for 2013, while an additional section has been reserved for supporters groups to sing and chant all game long. This will provide an even better ambiance in the stadium and make it even harder for opposing teams to come here and earn points.
The Ultras will begin the match by chanting the Allez Montreal song! Check out the lyrics here so you too will be ready to sing along.
3 – A healthy side: Spectators should be able to see a fairly healthy lineup as Andrea Pisanu, Alessandro Nesta and Andres Romero are expected to be available for the matchup.
2 – New in-game experience! For 2013, Club 93 is located at the southwest corner of the stadium and offers a comprehensive view of the action. Aside from an assigned seat, Club 93 offers a private terrace area to mingle with fans, covered by the roof, and a game-day hostess, along with a number of other advantages.
Also new this season, are the field seats! These tickets give you access to a private terrace during the pregame and halftime, and a number of other advantages to go along with the exclusive seating on the field, just three metres from the sideline! Never before have you been closer to the action!
1 – Your team is in first place! Starting the season 4-1 is no small feat. Showing up to the Impact’s home opener at Stade Saputo is just what the doctor ordered to get your team - leading the Eastern Conference - back on track following a tough loss. Be the 12th player!
