Canada extended its unbeaten streak to four matches with a victory over Trinidad and Tobago in Wednesday’s friendly in preparation for a World Cup qualifier in September.
The Canadian team won 2:0 over its CONCACAF rival played in Lauderhill, FL, USA. The Impact’s midfielder Patrice Bernier played 62 minutes for his country, while club teammate Evan James, who played for Canada at the U23 level, joined the senior side for the first time, but was not by head coach Stephen Hart.
Jamaican defender Shavar Thomas played all 90 minutes of his country’s friendly 2-0 win over El Salvador on the same night in Washington.
