Felipe's curler nominated for Goal of the week
If a picture paints 1,000 words, then the smile on Impact midfielder Felipe’s face after scoring on Saturday asks, “Goal of the Week nominee?”
The 21-year midfielder scored his first ever goal in MLS - and what a goal it was - against Sporting KC, beating goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen with an absolute curler from 35 meters. His goal proved to be the game winner, in a 2-0 win on the road, the Impact’s first in MLS.
Felipe has played every minute of regular season action for the Impact this season, over 10 games. He is just the second Impact player nominated for Goal of the Week honours, joining captain Davy Arnaud in Week 2 for his header against the Chicago Fire.
