Lots of positives after training camp in Mexico
The Impact is back in town since Sunday with a sense of having performed well in Mexico. The team ended the camp with a record of two wins and as many draws, having scored nine and conceded only one.
MLSsoccer.com correspondent in Mexico, Tom Marshall, liked what he saw in Guadalajara. But with 40 days remaining to the start of the season, head coach Jesse Marsch, the technical staff and the players still have a lot of work to do.

Players have been tested physically during the last week. Tactically, Marsch has tried a few formations. The head coach has often used the 4-4-2 and 4-4-1-1, rotating between having two main strikers and one man in the hole with the other further up.
The technical staff has also emphasised on building team chemistry, one of the main reasons for their trip to Guadalajara. Having a new team in place with players coming from all different conditions is not an easy task for the coaches, therefore, it was necessary to start working on it immediately.
In Tom Marshall’s article, Gambian winger Sanna Nyassi says he is satisfied with the team’s progress, especially when it comes to team spirit. Canadian goalkeeper Greg Sutton believes that that the mix of personalities in the squad puts the team in a good stead going into the Impact's first season in MLS.
Back in Montreal, the players will start training on Wednesday morning, at the Marie-Victorin Sports Complex. The team will then travel to Los Angeles, to take part in three preseason games against MLS opposition.
