THE IMPACT WILL GO TO NORTH CAROLINA FOR FINAL PREPARATION

PRESS RELEASE: March 12, 2010

MONTREAL – For the fifth consecutive year, the Impact will spend the final phase of its training camp on American soil, but contrary to previous years, this time the club will be in North Carolina, instead of Florida. The Montreal club will train in Cary, at WakeMed Soccer Park, home of the Carolina RailHawks, from March 23 to 30.

The Impact is expected to play three exhibition matches on this trip: Thursday, March 25 at 4pm versus the Charleston Battery (USL D2), Saturday, March 27 at 7pm against the Carolina RailHawks (USSF D-2), and Monday, March 29 at 3pm versus Wake Forest University.

Before arriving in North Carolina, the Impact will make a stop in Rochester to play an exhibition game against the Rhinos (USSF D-2) on Saturday, March 20 at noon.

«With just a couple weeks to go before the start of the regular season, this phase of our training camp will allow us to face some high-caliber teams, notably two teams we’ll face during the season, » declared Impact head coach Marc Dos Santos.

After four preseason games played, the Impact has a record of two wins (2-1 versus UQAM/McGill and 5-1 versus Freamunde), one loss (2-1 versus Celta de Vigo) and one draw (1-1 versus Boavista).

Up until its departure on March 23, the Impact will continue to train daily at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard.

SCHEDULE CHANGE
The match between the Impact and the Puerto Rico Islanders, originally scheduled for Friday, April 16th in Bayamon, has been postponed to Wednesday, September 8th at 8:05pm. As a result, the Impact will play only one road game (April 11th in Austin) before its home opener on April 25 at Saputo Stadium against Portland.

2010 season tickets are still available, as well as mini-season ticket packages of five games (starting at 50$) or 10 games (starting at 100$). Just call 514-328-3668 or visit www.montrealimpact.com for more details.
