Quarter finals - CONCACAF Champions League
Montreal Impact vs Santos Laguna Club (Mexico) February 25, 2009 - Olympic Stadium - 8:00 PM
After winning the first edition of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship, a tournament against Toronto FC (MLS) and the Vancouver Whitecaps (USL D1), the Impact reached the CONCACAF Champions League group stage by defeating Real Estelí FC (Nicaragua) in the preliminary round.

In the group phase, the Impact faced Joe Public FC (Trinidad & Tobago), CD Olimpia (Honduras) and Atlante FC (Mexico). The Montreal club finished second in Group C with a record of three wins, one loss and two ties.

The Montreal Impact and Mexican Club Santos Laguna are now matching up in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals round, which is the result of a draw. For the first time in Quebec soccer history, an international game will be played in Montreal during the winter. This historic game will be played Wednesday, February 25, at 8 pm, at Olympic Stadium. The decisive game of that home-and-away series will then be played March 5, in Torreon, Mexico.
